What do saves mean on Instagram?
In short
Saves is the number of times people bookmarked your post or reel to their saved collection — an intention to come back to it.
A like is a reflex; a save is a decision. Somebody who saves a post expects to need it again, which makes saves one of the clearest signals that a post was useful rather than merely seen.
Saves are private. Only the account holder can see them, so a save rate quoted by a tool that does not hold your account's own access was invented. Saves over reach — alongside shares, a *keep rate* — is one of the most persuasive numbers you can put in front of a brand, because it is one they cannot get anywhere else.
Is higher better?
Higher is better
As a share of reach. Compare posts in the same format; tutorials and lists are saved in a way entertainment rarely is.
Where to find it
Open the post and tap View insights under it. You need a professional (Business or Creator) account.
Questions people ask
Can other people see how many saves my post has?
No. Saves are shown only to the account holder, in the post's insights. Nobody browsing your profile — including tools that grade you from it — can see them.
